The dash ~ between birth date and passing represents a life lived. Only those who know you, were connected can know just what that small dash means. Only those who loved him know what that little line is worth.

Randy's dash reached far and wide and touched many souls. The family is planning a celebration of life soon and will be updating this site so that we may share together stories & memories of that dash.

Please submit your contact info using the JOIN UPDATE LIST to be included in our updates and information on the upcoming Celebration of Life.

Obituary ~

It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Randy Fasan. “Fazooli” to many friends and colleagues passed away at home in North Vancouver on August 19th. After moving to BC in 1982 from Kitchener, Ontario with his wife and infant son, Randy fell in love with everything about the west coast.
Fishing throughout coastal BC and Washington state on the “Bad Boy”, a boat he shared with his best friend Mark, was the Fasan’s cherished means of escape and their way to explore the boundless beauty of British Columbia. Throughout his career as an architect with Aitken Wreglesworth Associates and later as a master planner at Canada Lands Company, Randy contributed greatly to the built environment of the province with projects that told the story of his love for community, its peoples and his deep respect for the history of the place he called home.
One standout of many honors he received for his work, was his induction to the Order of the “Pukka” Sappers, becoming an honorary member of the division for his efforts to preserve the stories of Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Chilliwack in the Legacy Trail and All Sapper’s Memorial Park “CHIMO!” of Garrison Crossing.

Predeceased by parents Rosemary and Ernest; siblings Vivian and Shirley. He is loved and achingly missed by Patti, his wife of 47 years; his son Ryan and “the Petit Fazooli” family - Kami, Ryan’s wife and mother to granddaughter Claire; his brother Don and sister Lori; Brother’s in Law Jim Rutherford and John & Paul Roche. Randy’s definition of family was so much bigger than that though.
Family was a sacred word to Randy and the lynch-pin of his life – His immediate family grew to include not only cousins, nieces and nephews; but also, friends and many co-workers. This extended immediate family grew throughout his life and through Randy, connected with each other. All were celebrated and always welcomed at “Casa Fazooli” for his famous gourmet feasts.
Randy’s loss will be felt deeply by everyone.
